A beautiful Florida fall day was enjoyed by 55 people

(STCTB members, Scottish Terrier Rescue of Florida members,

Scottie friends, and guests)  and 36 well-behaved dogs (including 34 Scotties, a Miniature Schnauzer, and a Bedlington Terrier) at our Fall Fun Day at Hillsborough River State Park near Tampa, Florida.

 .

Activities included a pot-luck luncheon and BBQ, STCTB and STROF  boutique sales, free gift card drawings, a Scottie Halloween costume contest and opportunities for the dogs to try their paws at introduction to agility and barn hunt. (The dogs were very excited about rat hunting...

the rat, not so much!)

Several of our friends from Scottish Terrier Rescue of Florida (STROF) attended, and we had the opportunity to meet several STROF rescue Scotties who recently were placed in new "furever homes" -

including LuLu and Miss Maisie.

Thanks to Jene Anderson for running the barn hunt activity and to

Janet Skinner for setting up the introduction to agility course

As you will see in the photos, a great time was had by all!

The 2016 Spring Fling was so much fun!

  • Attended by 42 people  (including STCTB members and guests) and 36 dogs.
  • We had games and prizes for the Scotties and owners- including a "bootie race", an orange and spoon race, and "musical hula  hoops".
  • Scotties and their humans hunted  hidden Easter eggs for chances to win great raffle baskets and other gifts.
  • STCTB offered Scottie boutique sale tables.

Everyone enjoyed a delicious luncheon, and people and dog snacks provided by the club.

2016 Club Activities and Events

Highlights of the 2016

Annual Meeting and Awards

Our dinner theme was Celebrating Scotties and Summer

Colorful flyers, baskets,  raffle prizes, and decorations helped create the right mood!

  • 27 members and guests attended the event, which was held at the Ventura Country Club in Orlando, Florida on Saturday evening, June 4th.
  • Our evening featured a delicious meal and activities including the STCTB annual meeting, election of officers and directors, awards presentations, a "sneak peak" of the logo for the 2016 STCTB specialty show, raffles and prizes, quilt raffle ticket and Scottie boutique items sales, a "white elephant" gift exchange game... and lots of laughter, friendship, and good fun!
  • $160 was raised from the gift basket raffle and $230 from boutique sales.  An additional $139 of tickets were sold for the quilt raffle to benefit the Purdue University Canine TCC (transitional cell carcinoma) research study.
